The Cliffs is a Summerlin West village known for contemporary desert architecture — the kind with large glass expanses designed to frame the view. That design choice carries a skin consequence almost nobody accounts for: window glass blocks UVB but transmits a substantial amount of UVA, the longer wavelength responsible for pigment and collagen breakdown. Sitting beside a wall of glass for hours a day is meaningful sun exposure that never gets logged as sun exposure. It is one of the most common hidden variables we find in Las Vegas clients generally, and homes designed around glass amplify it. The pattern gives it away: pigment concentrated on whichever side of the face points at the light.
The dominant request from The Cliffs is tone and texture rather than acne — skin that photographs flat, pigment that has crept in, a general loss of clarity. That cluster responds well to chemical peels and, where collagen is the underlying issue, to microchanneling with Procell. The sequencing matters more than the individual treatment does. We establish barrier health first, then correct pigment, then address texture, because attempting all three at once in a climate this dry tends to inflame the skin and set you backwards. Local Skin Care Note
Standard residential glass stops UVB — the burning wavelength — almost entirely, which is why you do not get sunburnt sitting indoors. It does not stop UVA. That longer wavelength penetrates deeper, drives pigment production, and degrades collagen, and it passes through untreated glass largely unimpeded. In a house built around large windows, or a car with an untinted driver's window, that adds up to hours of daily exposure nobody counts. The tell is asymmetry: more pigment on the side that faces the light. If your damage is one-sided, we can usually point to the specific window responsible for it.
