Holiday Party Skin Prep: A Las Vegas Timeline for November and December

By Tiffany · October 8, 2026 · 7 min read

November and December in Las Vegas can mean a work party, a show, a dinner out and a family photo, sometimes all in the same week. You do not need a big intervention to feel ready. You need a little planning, a few well-timed appointments and a routine you already trust. Here is the general timeline I suggest to clients. Your own plan will depend on your skin and your calendar.

Start With Your Calendar

Write down your biggest event of the season and count backward from it. If you have several, plan around the one where you will be photographed the most. Holiday weeks get busy for everyone, so booking early gives you a better choice of appointment times.

New to Heavenly Skin? Our first visit guide explains how booking works and how to prepare for your appointment.

4 to 6 Weeks Out: Test Runs and Planning

This is the window for anything you have not had before. If you have never had a facial with us, a Custom facial ($85, 45 minutes) is a low-pressure way to see how your skin responds and to talk through a plan for the rest of the season.

Thinking about a chemical peel or microchanneling before the holidays? Start here, not later. Our booking page lists a $30, 45-minute Consultation as required before either one, and the timing of a first session is something we decide together. Skin can look pink, feel sensitive or flake for a while afterward, and how long that lasts varies from person to person, so a first peel is not something to squeeze in right before an event. Our peel aftercare guide explains what the days after a peel can look like.

Planning your first lash lift or your first dermaplane? Consider a test run in this window too, so you know how your lashes or skin respond before the date that matters.

1 to 2 Weeks Out: The Glow Appointments

This is a common window for the facial you want people to notice. The Hydroglow facial ($145, 60 minutes) is a hydrating, brightening facial that many clients like before an event. Adding dermaplaning, either as a Custom facial + Dermaplane ($115, 60 minutes) or a Hydroglow facial + Dermaplane ($175, 75 minutes), removes fine vellus hair and dead surface skin, so skin feels smoother and many clients find makeup goes on more evenly. Results vary.

Why not the day before? Most clients leave a facial looking fresh, but some skin turns a little pink, and some people notice a blemish or two in the days after extractions. A week or so of buffer gives your skin time to settle. If you have had a particular facial many times and know how your skin responds, booking it closer to the event can be fine.

The Korean Lash Lift ($85, or $100 with tint) fits this window well. Aftercare includes keeping lashes dry for the first 24 hours, so give yourself at least a couple of days before the event, and about a week if you like a little extra buffer. Weighing a lift against extensions? Our lash lift vs. lash extensions post compares them.

The Week of Your Event: Small, Familiar Steps

A Brow Shape ($20, or $35 with tint) is a quick appointment that fits well two to three days before your event. Some people are a little pink after waxing, and a few days gives that time to settle.

Keep your home routine boring: the cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen your skin already knows. The Las Vegas sun is still out in December, so daily broad-spectrum sunscreen still matters, especially if your plans include a patio or daytime photos.

Drink water, get what sleep you can, and go easy on salty food and late nights right before the event if you tend to look puffy afterward. On the day itself, a simple cleanse, moisturizer and sunscreen under makeup is plenty.

What Not to Do Right Before an Event

Skip anything new in the last week or two. That includes a first chemical peel, an at-home peel pad or mask you have not used before, a new exfoliating acid or a new retinoid. New products and treatments can leave some people red, flaky or sensitive, and there is no way to know how your skin will respond until you try it. Save experiments for January.

If you already use a retinoid or an exfoliating acid, ask us when you book whether to pause it before a facial, dermaplane or waxing, and follow any instructions your doctor or dermatologist has given you. If you are pregnant, nursing or using prescription skincare, check with your doctor before starting any retinoid or acid.

Leave breakouts alone the night before. Picking tends to leave a spot redder and harder to cover with makeup. A breakout that is deep, painful or keeps coming back is worth a visit to a dermatologist rather than a home fix.

And avoid booking a brand-new service for the day before. A first lash lift, first wax or first facial the day before is where surprises come from.

What It Costs

These prices come from our GlossGenius booking page as of October 8, 2026: Custom facial $85 (45 minutes), Custom facial + Dermaplane $115 (60 minutes), Hydroglow facial $145 (60 minutes), Hydroglow facial + Dermaplane $175 (75 minutes), Korean Lash Lift $85 or $100 with tint, Brow Shape $20 or $35 with tint, and a Hydrojelly mask add-on for $15. Every option and deposit is listed on our pricing page, and the booking page is always the final word on current prices.

Most holiday skin prep comes down to timing: try new things early, book your glow appointments a week or two out, keep the final week simple and keep wearing sunscreen. If you would like help planning around your calendar, book a Custom facial and we will map out the season together. Results vary, and for any medical skin concern, a dermatologist is the right first call.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far ahead should I get a facial before a holiday party?

Many clients book about one to two weeks before the event. That leaves time for any pinkness or a stray blemish to settle. If you already know how your skin responds to a particular facial, booking it closer to the event can be fine. Results vary.

Can I get a chemical peel before a holiday event?

Plan well ahead if you want one. Our booking page lists a $30 Consultation as required before a chemical peel, and a first peel is best scheduled several weeks before an event, since skin can look pink, feel sensitive or flake afterward for a length of time that varies from person to person. If your event is only days away, a hydrating facial is usually the simpler choice.

When should I get a lash lift before an event?

At least a couple of days before, since aftercare includes keeping lashes dry for the first 24 hours. Many clients book about a week ahead. If it is your first lash lift, consider a test run earlier in the season.

When should I get my brows shaped before a party?

Two to three days before is a common choice. Some people are a little pink after waxing, and that buffer gives it time to settle.

Should I stop my retinol before a facial or waxing?

Ask us when you book, and follow your doctor's instructions if your retinoid is prescribed. If you are pregnant, nursing or using prescription skincare, check with your doctor before using any retinoid or acid.
